About the Park

A major perk of the park being open at night is exploring the dunes on a night illuminated by a full moon pouring its beams over the sand. Another great way to explore is at a night with no moon, when you’ll have a stunning view of the night sky flooded with stars.
This is also a great place for daytime hiking. Great Sand Dunes National Park has miles and miles of trails (and undeveloped hiking trails) for explorers to wander.
